MINISTER: "Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy...love others as well as you love yourself" (Mark 12:30-31, MSG). Those words tell us what Christianity is all about. They give us the ideal to work toward as we walk through the minefield of life. The apostle John wrote, "If we love one anoher, God dwells deeply within us, and His love becomes complete in us--perfect love" (1 Jn 4:12)! He followed that up with the simple declaration, "God is love" (1 Jn 4:16b). In a time when truth has become largely irrelevant, one truth remains firm. Love is the foundation of our service to God, the cornerstone of what His church is all about. The North Park church is working hard at being loving. We want YOU to see God's love through what we do and how we treat each other. But we also want you to experience the love that God has for you. When you visit we promise to do our best to make you feel more than welcome. We promise to try and make you feel loved!
MINISTRY ASSISTANT: 
February of 2009 marked my 20th consecutive year working for the Lord’s church at North Park. My job description is listed as “Ministry Assistant” which aptly describes my role – I assist all of the church’s ministries. From ordering or writing materials for a Bible class to mapping the deliveries of food baskets from the Helping Hands Pantry to organizing the many activities of the church to writing the bulletin to plunging a toilet to creating a movie to taking pictures to overseeing the Women’s Ministries. I love my job (most days—wink, wink). I have the best Boss (God); He knows my heart and intentions even if the result is not what I’d hoped for. He’s extremely patient and forgiving. I enjoy the brothers I work with everyday; not everyone has Spiritual wisdom and counsel within shouting distance each work day. And I truly feel blessed to serve my church family – many of whom helped to bring me up in the Lord, others who have helped me cultivate my faith and also those I’m just beginning to have the benefit of fellowship in our Savior. I’m pretty sure I could have a career where my monetary compensation would be of more value, however, I personally believe I am rich beyond measure because of the spiritual wealth He showers on me each day. “Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work — this is a gift of God.” Eccl 5:19
